I see that alot of people are feeding Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold+ and are having great results in growth colour etc but has anyone tryed Hikari Hi-Growth Koi pellets or Hikari Excel koi pellets to compare. Im asking because the Bio Gold+ only comes in 250g packs, seems small compared to the 5kg bags of koi food.

Never tried koi food but if you want bio gold or any hikari product in 2.2lb bags contact MFK member johnptc to see if he has any bags available. Hard to beat his prices. I've bought both biogold and food sticks from him.

i feed mine frozen krill and i can already see their colors pop out more

I feed mine Koi pellets, and it seems to help. I love Hikari products, but I have found myself mixing NLS into their diet. It's a little bit better of quality food.

Oh and my Bass' staple is massivore.

i was just reading up on all the Hikari products and i was thinking the same thing they also have a new product for fancy goldfish that is supppose to give super colours

Koi and goldfish eat plant and plankton matter. Don't feed this to your cichla. Cichla are piscivores-they eat fish and crustacean meat. They need food high in protein to be healthy. Sure, toss those in every once in a while and they will have a varied diet, but don't use it as a staple.
