another geophagus ID request !

hi guys, bought a couple of these labeled as rotkiel/red shoulder severum. they are about 3.5 inches long. this pic was taken a few weeks ago, since then they have developed more blue and red streaks around the head but not the solid red on the flanks as expected. they almost look discus in there colour development.
i'd appreciate opinions, thanks in advance.

That's an interesting fish. It looks somewhat like the ones that Jeff imported a while ago. He referred to them as Heros efasciatus "Tapajos".

Severum vary so much that you really can't give an exact answer.

It's not a typical turquoise severum.

These do look like the Tapajos variety that have the red nose. My fish from Jeff didn't develop that way -- they developed like rotkeils. It's hard to say for sure what it is unless you can trace it back to the breeder, but so far it looks like it's turning out to be a really nice fish. I'd love to see some pictures of it in a few months.
