Dimidiochromis strigatus or kiwinge. Most likely strigatus as I've never seen kiwinge anywhere for sale. Great pick up!

aka malawi eye biter..grows to a good size too..the ones i see round here are usually blue..

Yeah I got him/her in a 65G for now along with two Fronts. We'll see how it goes and if it gets too big for it then I will move it or sell it.

you beat me to it! yeah that ones really pale. usually very royal blue.

D. comps aren't born blue. The one in question is either a female (which won't colour up), or a juvenile who hasn't coloured up yet. How big is it?

as far as temperate it should go fine with your fronts. They are pretty laid back. They only get the name eye bitter because most people can not or do not know how to feed them correctly. They then kill other fish to survive. Of course lots of cichlids will do this if hungry enough...
