I think its a female, but its hard to tell with the flushed out color. Can anybody confirm or deny? My thinking is that she has a bit too much color on her lower cheeks to be a male. I could be wrong though. Ill try to get better shots tomorrow where she will actually show more color. Shea pretty stressed, for beat up (hence messed up lip and fins), new tank (for her, its established),
Plus salt and medication for wounds. Hopefully she fully recovers.

A very stressed out/washed out female. Also remember, the lighter the gravel the lighter color your JD will display.
 
Thanks! I was really hoping for a female! I want to breed my male but he beats the crap out of every female I have put in with him, so I got this female who is just about the same size. Hopefully she can hold her ground! as for the substarte, I am working on changing it out to a darker gray gravel.
