so after taking down my 29 gallon tank that has been empty sitting next to my 75 gallon tank i had the light fixture from the 29 sitting on my 29 and the blue-ish color it gave off looked awesome. i have quite a few damsels with blue in them and a blue devil and it just made them look magnificent. so i wanted to get a new brighter blue looking bulb but i know nothing about bulbs or lighting. eventually after i move im getting a T5 fixture for my tank, but for now i would just like to get a different bulb to get that blue color without keeping an extra light fixture on top of my tank. anyone know a specific bulb that gives off a slight blue color but still bright and white at the same time? does that make sense? :screwy: im googling it to see general bulbs, nothing to fancy since im going to put out the money in a month or two for a T5. just a bulb that will give off a nice color. thank you.

Yes you can get a bluer light for your tank. Just ask the hardware store they should have a bulb that is a different k than the one you are using giving you the more blue tint you are looking for.

You won't have much luck at the hardware store unless your guy happens to be a fish keeper. You want a high K (Kelvin) bulb 10000k-20000k which would be easier to order online. Corallife 10,000k (more white) and Corallife 20,000k (more blue).
