I got my Hermans totiose a new cage yesterday but it's wasn't very good, so we took it back and got him a better on and set it up. The first pic is the old one the second is the new one.

I was just wondering, what the temperature is like where you live? Could you build an outdoor pen for your tortoise in the summer? I'm sure he/she would love to graze outdoors in a pen.
It's a 3 year female hermans. We've got a metal pen with a cover and she loves going in it. We are thinking of getting another hermans soon as we've seen some at a really good price.Vicious_Fish;935771; said:
So you do have an outdoor pen. I know turtles and tortoises are petty easy to keep outdoors in pens because they can't climb out (usually). Natural sunlight is the best thing for them too so it's great to hear that you let yours outside. I've never had a tortoise before so I won't pretend I know what I'm talking about. Good luck with purchase. Having a pair of them would be great!

Hermans are small enough to keep indoor though, so you might as well let it grow into its full size.
