Hey everyone, im the new guy here.....clearly. Im sure these "new guy" threads pop up more than most would like....so I apologize in advance:D
Anyway, onto my newbie questions. I've been flirting with the idea of getting a silver of a black aro for about 5 years now (I procrastinate what can I say). I think im actually going to do it this time...Im a snake guy by trade. Been keeping and breeding them for almost decade now. Mostly Green tree pythons, Emerald tree boas, Red-tail green rats and carpet pythons. I recently had a spare room become available in my house, then it occured to me "AROWANA TANK". So.....now im here :grinno:

I know the "basics" about Aro's I guess you can say. I've never been a huge fish keeper, however I have kept piranhas in the past...but thats pretty much the extent of my fish keeping experience. Im here looking to for advice from the pro's. I'm planning on going with a 200 gallon tank (maybe bigger) to start as they will soon grow into them as I've read. Im a complete novice though when it comes to filtration, tank lids, lighting, brands and pricing. Which is what im here to get more spacific answers to. Any and all opinion & advice are much appreciated!

Chris

A Fluval FX5 for filtration (or a sump), a very secure lid is important, I'd think lighting would really be up to you. Oh, I can't help you with pricing. 3" ones cost $8 in Singapore.
