i just picked up a 6" male bowfin from my lfs. been wanting one for awhile and finally got one. hes one awesome fish! very active and not showing much aggresion towards tank mates although he did bite me lol. hes pretty shy so i havent been able to catch a pic yet but when i do it will be posted. im so exited im one step closer to my dream monster tank! if only i had the room and cash now! :nilly:
 
Nice pickup! I just got a juvie a month or so ago, they're really awesome fish! Try catching some small crawdads for it, they really seem to like them.

lol thanx guys! he definitely adds something to the tank. hes been awesome but every once in a while when i walk over he freaks out and thrashes the filter tubes and thermometer. hope he stops soon cuz im affraid hell break them!
 
Nice bowfin, they will bite! you should see the teeth on one of the really big ones we see here, the teeth on a meter long fish!!! They don't call'em dogfish for nothing!
