Hello there! Here's my "I'm new here" post.

I'm relatively new to the fish keeping world. I got thrown into the fish world about a year ago. To make a long story short, I work at a pet store. I kind of got thrown into the fish department and I'm trying my hardest to make sure the right fish go to the right homes. But there are still times when I'm confronted with a situation in which I'm not sure how to advise a customer, and I love forums like this where I can double-check my information before I tell the customer something.

Currently, I have only a 20H aquarium. I have a pair of German blue rams (they just started spawning, yay!!), a pair of peacock gudgeons, and 6 cherry barbs. I'm incredibly proud of my rams... I think they're gorgeous! I'm also attempting to keep some java ferns, although I've never in my life been able to keep anything green alive. I'd LOVE something larger, but I have two hurdles to overcome: Moving into a larger place so that I have the space, and convincing Hubby that I need a bigger tank!

That's me in a nutshell! :)

I'd be happy to show off my fish! I'm really proud of them, particularly my male GBR. I think he's outstanding! However, my tank set up leaves something to be desired. It's pretty lame... Maybe you'd have some suggestions on how to make it not so boring looking? :)

welcome to mfk.. we love proud fishkeepers.. looking forward to seeing your collection.. glad your here ... have fun and enjoy MFK

Okay, here's my tank! Again, it's not that much to look at... While I can always tell a well-done tank when I see one, I don't seem to have much of an eye for decorating on my own! I have mostly artificial plants, with 4 little java fern starters I just added. I also have a couple more rocks I hope to add, but they're currently soaking in a bucket to be sure they won't affect my water. :)

Here are some comparison shots of my male ram, over 3 months ago and now:

A couple more of the happy couple. You can see dad pretending to guard the eggs (I swear the fella has ADD... he'll swim around for a while, then hurry back to the eggs like "Oh s***, I forgot I was supposed to look after these things!"). Most of the eggs appear to be dying. :( This is their first spawn, though, so I didn't really have my hopes up.

And for kicks, here's my deformed emperor tetra. I rescued him from work because I knew no one would want to buy him. I named him Wonky lol.

ive always been of fan of rams, but never kept em.

Awesome stocklist! I wish i still had my GBR and my peacock gudeons. Why don't you try an amazon sword? they are pretty easy. Make sure you have some root tabs and do your research.
