Okay so after my last streak of good luck with picking things out of the "jaguar cichlid" tank that were actually other parachromis species, I have been keeping a close eye on it for things that look somewhat "un-jaggish".
Today I grabbed these two guys at about 6-7". The LFS owner admitted that the person who brought them in said they were dovii but that he thought they looked more like jags so put them in the "jag tank".
I noticed their faces looked way different than any other jag Ive ever owned, almost perch-like,with almost the sloping hump that dovii usually have.
I thought I had scored again but the more I look up juvenile dovii's on here the more I realize its spotting looks way more jag. I for some reason always thought that dovii had spots very similar to jags but just grew much bigger.
But I just cant get over the strange shape of their head... what do you guys think did I score something not quite P. Managuense?
Sorry for the crappy pix my camera is like 5 years old and my hands shake so much you would think I had Parkinson's.
