I hate loosing fish. Especially for stupid reasons. Not sure why but this Odoe bailed on me last night. Pretty frustrating to try so hard to raise fish and they can just decide one day they'd rather carpet surf then conform to life in a tank.

Not too bad of size for a male I don't think.......

Carpet surf lol.... something must have spooked it and caused it to dart around the tank.

They are the only fish fish in the tank, 6 juvie rays in there. 7x3x2.5.

Wondering IF maybe they're trying to pair up? 1M/2F left of this group. Kinda wondered this the last time one bailed. Would expect males to be mean to eachother, but the one that jumped before this was a female.
 
I think outside noises and possibly vibrations sets some characins off.Sometimes I can hear my big silver dollars suddenly splashing about in their tank in the basement underneath me when walk through the main floor of the house.
I had to run down and save one once when it managed to knock the lid up and wound up dancing around on the floor.
 
Seems to only be the big ones I have issues with. Tank next to is is almost the same size with 7 smaller Odoe in it, so they would be subjected to the same circumstances. Rays like the Odoe are a bit smaller, but again, only fish in the tanks, only rays for tank mates.
 
Bummer.
Same thing happen to me this week. Unfortunately, mine did it on the rocky shores of the garage with no Lifeguard on duty and it was low tide.
