Saw this guy at a lfs, and was wondering what it was. They offered me $8 for it, but I did not want to take it without knowing what it was. Thanks in advance.
Kind of looks like my anthurus pikes. Also could be lepidota... they both have the large circle behind the gill plate, and all the little sparkly dots across their flanks.
Anthurus are often sold as jewel pikes, and it looks some what similar to that. So I'd lean that way for now till it get larger at least. It is definitely a Saxatilis group pike for sure.
looks like an anthurus or a lucius. the second pic has a blurry spot right where the humeral blotch is. i think a good side profile shot would really help. the humeral bloth is likely the way to tell which sax pike it is.
The face looks more like my lepidota, but the body makes me think more anthurus. It could be lucius, since I don't really know the difference between that and anthurus very well.
You can see some faint spangling down the body, which would rule out lucius. If it IS indeed spangling, might just be my imagination, can't tell for sure to be honest.
