Saw this bad boy at my LFS, pretty cheap money. Wondering what species this is and also what this thing is worth at about 3".:popcorn::popcorn:

Thanks in advance! I love the Blut spots!

Has to be this kind... Abei puffer...

..Right??

After further research it is DEF the abei... seems to be not frequently seen... Im thinking about it.. I dunno.

could even be a Monotrete turgidus if you ask me... better wait for PP to come in and see what she thinks...

No red dot in a false eye = not a fangs so I am guessing its a Turgidis. Although the pics aren't good enough for me to be sure the occeli is missing.

I thought Abei are lighter in color?

but what about those specific blue spots n red eye??

Turgidis, I dont think so, but could be. I appreciate and value all guesses and opinions!

have a look at this turgidus link and see if the photos look like the puffer in your pic?

If not check out the rest of the pufferpedia to see if any of them look close... since those pictures aren't exactly the best quality...

Im pikcing up what your putting down... u may be on to something.. I can see it now.

Can you get a better shot of the side without glare?

But I am stating Turgidis as the coloring doesn't look like an Abei. Post it on the puffer forum for better eyes but Turgidis and Fangs look most like the fish you posted and I do not see the false eye.

^ Yeah if i saw the false eye i would have said Fangs... but with no false eye, and the color being a bit off i guessed turgidus...
