Another Question About Suitable DIY Filter Media

Hi all I've read about Styrofoam beads being used as media in a moving bed application. The beads used had a really high amount of surface area. Could I use bean bag filler as long as it doesn't have any additives like flame retardant or anti molds? Will it work the same? Thanks again guys

Lol, thanks. I've kind of abandoned the idea for now. Every so often, I tinker with ideas. Yes, love scrubies! Especially at 8 for $1
