Another rescue day!

Went to collect some Pellets today at my LFS, on the way home I popped into see a friend who I sold many of my Bichirs to, and he asked me if I would kindly take the Congicus I sold him a few weeks ago back!

Appears this brute has been kicking too much ass in his tanks!

So I get it bagged up, and pop back to the LFS for a styro box to keep it in for the journey.

Whilst there a very old guy is returning a fish that he had bought that was being destroyed by his Oscars. I looked in his bag, and there it was.
A terrible sight! A Paroon, that looked like it was dead. The LFS wern't having none of it, infact they were denying ever selling it, so idiot here offered to take it!

So looks like my garage pond will have to be re setup again. Though from the condition this guy is in, I doubt it will last that long...

Here is todays rescues:

Congicus (around 18-20")

It is so sad to see any fish in this state.
My personal opinion is fish like this should not be kept in home Aquaria, no matter how common they are.

As of this morning it has gone into a 4x2x2 quaranting by itself with a good dose of Japanese yellow powder.

I hope I can get it to recover for the next step which will be a small garage pond.
After that I could (and wouldn't want to try) raise it so it will be past on to one of the many "Monster" specialist shops here in Japan that have pools that house fish of this size and only sell to responsible pond owners across the country.

Nice save!

how big is the Paroon? looks very skinny.

Thats 1 bad looking fish, good save how he pulls through good luck, and congrats on getting the congicus(hope u paid half the price you sold him for:naughty:) , he must quite a monster poly. What fish was he with ?
