Hi everybody,

Have lurked a few days, but the nag message finally wore me down.
Second time around for aquariums and their inhabitants for me. It's been 25 years, so there is not only a lot more products to learn about, there is more information, more species...and, with the web, a lot more folks out there who enjoy the hobby.
The first time around I managed to frustrate myself. I collected fish that did not have a great appeal to me (i.e., neons vs.silver arowana), so my first experience lasted only a few years. The beasts in the tank did not have what I really was looking for.
Temptation arrived in the form of a free 29-gallon tank- from a friend. I thought, what a good idea! Set up a tank for the family! It wasn't long before I was reading tons of info on "primitive" species- and it has become clear that
in order to justify the 29-gallon "family" tank, I need to look for an additional much larger tank to house a few specimens of "my god!!! What IS that?!?"
This looks to be fun. With online members with more experience than myself, the hobby should STAY interesting. MFK seems to be quite a group, I have enjoyed what I have read so far, nearly taking up too much of my time browsing the information here.
I live in NW Washington State and am on the prowl for used equipment so I can set up a suitible temporary home for some monsters, perhaps in the process may turn family members into MFK'ers as well....

Cheers to you all
