I never get shots of this guy anymore as he always hangs at the back so I was happy to at least get this shot.

I had the overhead flash at an angle to get this shot.

The big fella is actually hard to get with the overhead flash. The light seems to bounce off him causing glare.

Do you take your pics with a tri pod or free hand?

Along with your settings, I'd like to also know what type of equiptment you're using, such as camera, lens type and focal length. I'm just getting into digital single lens reflex phtography. Thanks.

Equipment- Canon 450D,18-55mm AF/IS kit lens, 430EX II speedlite in conjunction with a Glanz trigger.

Settings are pretty much still the same but I have been experimenting with the flash position.
Full manual mode, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/250th, f/11 for most shots, full auto white balance, auto focus on evaluative metering, image stabilizer active.The speedlite zoom function was set @ 14mm and I used the factory diffuser to broaden the flash. :)
