I keep 4 baby Indo's in a tank filtered by an Eheim 22/50 cannister.. 2 days ago I noticed that one of them was missing. I threw in white worms, food, etc, and only 3 appeared...this morning i just dismantled the whole tank, wood out, stones out, big water change ( since I was at it ), but noting...
I then noticed that the protection at the end of the water sucking tube of the filter was missing.....
I dove to the floor and looked into the filter hose ( the big one of the water input ) and sure enough my baby Dat was there..swimming against the current, inside the hose, for 2 days.
It did not get sucked into the filter because it was too big to pass through the hose valves..
I dismantled the bloody hose, and into the bucket the baby Dat fell,a live and kicking!!! It could have been the end!!
We have to constantly check the equipment.
