its only been a couple days that I've had my wild orinos, this morning i successfully converted them to non-live food and pbass are only 4inchs.
I USED NO FEEDERS AT ALL
, i found that krill, pellets or prawn are no good when trying to convert them, they would just spit out the stuff.
so i tried frozen mini smelt that i picked up from my local grocers(any mini frozen fish will do, small enough to fit in their mouths), IMO pbass like the taste of fish better than any other foods, makes sense if you think about their natural habitat.
what i did was, first i got their feeding attention to the surface of the water(just wave your hand in a fast motion from a distance but be carfull not spook them), then i chucked one smelt at a time with a bit of force from a distance so it created an impact on the water, the orinos hit the smelt with great force and didn't spit it out
note that throwing with force and creating an impact is important, as when i tried to just drop the smelts the orinos did not take them. also maksure your hand or arm does not come over the tank as it will spook the fish, chuck the smelt from a distance.
just thought i'd share this with everyone and pass on this tip.
