Another whats your TOP 5 cichlid list....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'll take a mayan over a festae since they festae are flodding the hobby now. They have a better personality then the festae does

You seem to place alot of emphasis on how popular fish are or are not, which is fine if that works for you. Personally i don't care if everyone and their dog owns something, if i like it i will own it too.

I owned them i had 5 and i sold each one of them, they are a very attractive fish but lack personality. Anyone who owns cichlids and says they dont care about personality is missing the main reason for owning a cichlid in the first place... Not bashing just stating my opinion

I like to Bring in new fish to my area and so do other people. It has nothing to do with popular a fish is it is about what is in the area in general and in our area there are 2 many festae's i love the colors they get but are not that good of a wet pet
in my Opinion

I think we all want our fish to have personality, it's just a case of what one person finds appealing the next person doesn't.... We don't all like the same women
I have 5 Festae at the moment they are only around 2-1/2" at most, so i can't really comment on their personality too much. They will obviously change alot in time, alot of people i have asked have said that theirs didn't really display much personality either. Mine are already eating out of my hand (Like a school of piranha lol) and are very responsive. I understand that they are small and things could change, but i will reserve judgement until i have given them some time

I have a few different setups, i also have a jack dempsey that has as much personality as my kids Oscars. He is always the first to the front of the tank, will follow your finger everywhere and never hides. Despite lots of peoples experiences with them being very shy.

I have just aquired 2 Breidohri too, they are very interesting to watch, and look like they could have tons of personality but i have only had them a short while.

Each fish can and will display individual personality, i suppose it just depends on what you as the owner are looking for.

Which is why i said "fine if that works for you".

I'm personally not interested in owning something because it is "new" or because nobody in my area has it yet. I own fish that i want to own regardless of what anyone else has or doens't have. ;)

It seems like everyone has an Oscar, we have 2 of them aswell. Why ? Because we like them.
