Hi,

I brought 2x Ansorgii @ 6" yesterday. Came home and put them in my 7ft tank. There are 8 polys in here biggest is a 12" lap and a 12" weeksii. Today they are just hiding behind the filter pipes. I have a grow out tank with a few small endli's in 2.5x1x1.5 tank. Would it be safe to leave them where they are and let them settle in or net them out now and put them in the grow out tank until they put on some growth.

Thanks

I would probably leave them in the big tank. When you say small endlis, I wouldn't mix any small lower Jaws with another lower jaw. I'm also not sure how thick your ansorgii are compared to your larger bichirs. I would Definitley leave them in, but try and feed them enough so they can put on some girth.

The endli's are small around 4-5". The ansorgii does not have much girth. Just don't want any casualties as It was a 7 hour round trip for these!

I'd still probably keep them in the big tank if they are all ready in there. Would prevent unneeded stress of moving and re-acclimating.

Thanks dr.b just a quick update one of them is eating and chilling with the group laying on the sand next to them, they have shown no aggression at all. The other is still behind the filter pipe.

Nice ansorgii really love the pattern on them

If they're hard to get. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. I'd find an excuse to set up another tank. Just glancing at the pic. There seems to be a difference in size. I've had an experience where an ornate. Held my ansorgii head too long and did not make it.
