Ok it may just be me, but are yall freaked out by your monster fish you keep in aquaria but not by monster fish that you catch by rod and reel?

For example, my 12" VATF jumped the tank and I paniced like a little girl trying to scoop him up yet I go noodling, have landed and held many gar around 50" in TL, even jumped in the water with an 8ft nurse shark to attempt to grab her by the tail and drag her on the beach!

I think it is because I have seen the power and speed clearly in the fish I have kept in my fish tank so Im more cautious/respectful of them.

I was watching a fidhing show and the host landed a 30"+ aimara with his hands like it was no big deal, but would any of you head of to Shark Aquarium and grab George's monster aimara?! I sure wouldnt!

Oh and to clarify Im not really that freaked out, just more cautious I guess...

I guess I've seen this too, but it's mainly because I'm more worried about my fish getting hurt. I flip out if my little bichir squirms out of the net when being moved, but I've got no problem grabbing large bluefish or pulling back the lips on sand sharks to show kids the teeth.

yea i agree i flinch like a little girl when my jd's get a little aggresive and nip me while cleaning tank but taking the hook out of big blues and pikes and stuff with no pliers or gloves on the other hand...

I think its because the fact that you fought the fish and are holding it but yua im only like that with my enli, also when we caught a wahoo i did not touch until it was in the coler for an hour.

ive seen that aimara and there is no way in hell i would go near its mouth with my hands
