ant infestation in tank help!

I would suggest buying bug spray and use that, then place alot of those little ant traps with all those entry holes

In the past, I have used powdered boric acid mixed with sugar. The ants carry the acid back to the nest with the sugar, and it kills the entire colony.
I would not use a spray near an aquarium.

x2 and I would put any fish food ect in airtight containers ect... something is attracting them and until you fix that they will keep attracting them.

they were in the food drawer so i removed all the food but there were hundreds on the lid of the tank i got rid of those i took out most of the ants but i will set a trap or two on the shelf of the stand were they are

Or the family of raccoons in my tank stand.

Air tight containers for food...nls plastic cans are great.

Also regularly clean the tank top etc with water only where food usually spills.

Do not try this one! If it ever sprays into your tank, you know what I mean. This is a no, no even with those deodorizers! Move your fish food to airtight containers. You can put small amounts of soapy water around your tank stand in small quantities. Minimize if your stand is made of wood. Find the nest and pour the rest of the soapy /detergent solution there. If I were you, I'd even use boiling water with powdered detergent to make it quick.
