I keep reading that Anthicus Adonis is a nasty pleco that will create problems with other plecos.
Mine is a foot long (not counting tail extensions) in a 125 housed with Xingu Royal (5 inch), Marbelled Sailfin (five inch), Goldie (three inch). And a foot Long Oxydoras Niger (mother)....all of which have lived together for over a year.
I have never had any problems with the Adonis bothering anyone. I even have a red-"night light" to spy on him. Mother booted him from his cave for a while, but i think she is now too fat to comfortably take over his cave and they are getting along again.
Could this mean mine is a female?, or is the Adonis just not old enough to be the nasty fish I have read about......
Once i upgrade into my first monster tank I am hoping to introduce a few more giant plecos...introducing them first to the tank once established......then moving the Adonis in.....
IS this a bad idea? Or is she/he just so used to captivity that is will not be a problem (got him/her at 2 inches....).
