Antibiotic Error

I have been treating my oscar for a week for popeye. I am treating with Maracyn. After doing a little research, I have found that the antibiotic I am using is for gram positive bacteria, and I need a gram negative antibiotic. Needless to say there has been no effect whatsoever. Just because you have a bacterial infection doesn't mean that any antibiotic will work. $20 down the drain, err tank.
