Try it if it will take it. I know and will float if drop in the water but termites would be good. I sued to feed termites to my dwarf snakeheads.

How about termite with wings???

Even better. Back in the Philippines they would swarm all the lights. I used to grabbed my fish net and took advantage of getting every one of them. There were just way too many that my fish couldn't ate all of them.

Feeding adult ants is not recommended. Many species incorporate acids and/or toxins for defense. These elements can potentially harm your fish through direct contact or toxicity buildup over time. It would be much better to offer smaller fish ant eggs and pupae. You can get many of these by lightly spraying the surface of ant mounds with a long-duration mist from a garden hose. When the mound starts to flood, workers will carry the eggs towards the surface of the mound making egg collection easier.

Members in the south should refrain from trying this on any suspected fire ant mound.
