My scalare ate some ants... Anyone know if it's hostile?

Not quite sure what you're asking by hostile? If you mean 'is it dangerous' to feed ants to the angels then, it can be depending on the species of ant. Some species produce formic acid as a defense mechanism. The levels may be slight but, can still harm your fish. You also need to be concerned of any pesticides or ant baits the ants may be carrying from areas they tracked through.

I stopped feeding my fish bugs when I realized that they might have bug spray/poison all over 'em, or like he said may even be poisonous themselves. so I think it may be a little risky and they probably want the other good food you been feeding them instead anyway!
