I just bought 4 pots of the Anubias barteri for my 125g discus tank. I never have any experience and new to the planted tank. Is this aquarium plant easy to take care? Is there any problem w/ algae if anyone has any experience w/ Anubias? Any advise and feedbacks will be greatly appreciated.

anubias are very easy to grow. take them out of the pots and tie them to driftwood or rocks. do not bury the rhizome in your substrate. they need moving water around the rhizome and will rot if you bury them.

these can grow in almost any condition, but they are very slow growing. if you have too much light, ive found that anubias get algae on their leaves very easily

Anubias are susceptible to getting algae on their leaves because they are slow growing and the leaves last for so long. But don't stress out too much about a little algae. There is a big learning curve on plant keeping. But it is addictive. Next thing you know, you will want more plants and better equipment. It is a great thing.
