I have 5 small to med Anubias in my tank. All spread apart in pots and on driftwood. I noticed that some of them are being eaten by something but I dont know what. I did find one snail the other day and I dont know if that was doing it? Ive been looking for more, but dont see nothing. It should be easier for me to spot, because I have a bare bottom tank! I get some small holes in the middle of the leafs and some corners of the plants are missing. It looks like it a catapillar ate them (just an example). Now I have 2 ATFS, 1 gar 2 mono sabaes, 1 pleco, 1 indo dat, and 1 goldfish. Ive had all my fish for close to a year (the gar is about 2 weeks old in my tank) and Ive kept Anubias with them the whole time. With this being said I dont think my fish are eating the plant cause I would of seen this earlier. Do you think I have Ity-bitty snails that are feasting on my plants? I also dont think that its my water parameters cause I keep up with my water!!!!! All my plants are GREEN. So I dont think that they are dying or not healthy. Any feed back on what might be harming my plants??????????

I found my Anubias being nipped on by my GT and Cons... I thought it tasted bad for them. id say the dat.

Ill post some pics tomorrow morning.
As for the Dat, when I bought it I was told it was an Indo Dat with split bars. Hes a solo soldier and chills under the driftwood. The plants being attacked are in the pots. Witch is not that close to where he hides under the driftwood. Its funny you guys point that out cause now that Ive thought about it since hes been in the tank, I have noticed the leaves getting messed up :(. Before the gar the Dat was the last to go in the tank. Maybe about 4-5 months old and his size is 3.5-3.75". Im going to keep my eye on this little dude!!!

Here goes some of my pics of the plants.

On the last pic is my dat and the leaf that is hanging over the pot has pcs missing.

You guys think its my Dat?

Looks like snail damage, combined with lack of nutrients. I would get it out of that pot, as it will not be able to get enough water flow to grow properly inside of that pot.

How about the other plants. They are all in the open except the one in the pot? Do those look like a snail situation?

All of the wholes look like snail damage. Although, they don't look like damage from a small snail.

WOW. You say not a small snail huh. I know I found 1 small/med snail about just shy of a dime. I found him in my sump. He probly got sucked in by the syphon of the sump and down to the 20gl with the bio balls. I dont see any other snail (I hope I dont), but Im going to keep a close eye. Thanks a lot WyldFya!

not meaning to hijack the thread, but will bristle nose plecos make holes in anubias too?
