Just seeing what you guys all thought about the colors and size of my fish. Any tips on how to bring out more color or personality would be cool, or even tips from more experience.

nice looking fishes

Are all those in the same tank? Disaster waiting to happen.

Why's it a disaster waiting to happen? Everyone seems to get along just fine. No one gets picked on, that I can see, and there are plenty of places to hide. Is my noob mind not seeing something that experienced minds are?

If it ain't broke don't fix it.. from the look of your fish you take very good care of them, and care very much for them. cichlids in general have a tendancy to be unpredicatable.. so you always want to be wary particularly if they decide to spawn. I don't see any "problems" but the potential for a spawning pair to wreck havoc seems plausible in the future. Your also mixing Africans w/ sa/ca's and some people don't approve of it. imo if it works.. again... don't fix it if it ain't broke.

The convict, who is the smallest, is the only one with any aggression, on occasion. I think she may lay eggs then protect her cave for a few days then back to normal. How would I know if any of them are pairing up? Anything I can do to try and minimize any breeding potential?

I think its just the case of mixing africans with CA/SA cichlids. They have differant water requirements and they fust look odd together never really together in the wild
