i just got an L014 from wildwoods :D he is amazingly friendly and is already wolfing down everything in sight, its only been the second day he is in my tank haha. he has also coloured up beautifully since i've put him in. have you guys got any advice/tips for me? so far he has had:

bloodworms, river shrimp, daphnia, algae wafers, white micro worms and he has loads of bogwood to graze on. i used to have a gold nugget for a couple of years but i've never had an L014 and i think it doesn't need much bogwood in it's diet whereas gn's do more?

anyway any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated. he is in a 150gal tank with two eheim canisters for filtration - professional 3 2078.

uhmm the temp is also at 29 degrees i think. he is about 6"

I dont own a L-014, but it sounds like your set-up will be just fine for it depending on tank mates. You may want to try to get it to eat some veggies such as zuchinni or sweet potato just to give it a bit of a varied diet. It may take several times to get them to realize the veggies are food.

They are meat eaters.. so u def need shrimp and cucumbers together... I would sandwich the shrimp between two piece of cucumbers and just feed it when young...

When older they are better adapt to bigger chunks of meat.. These plecos are nice fish, but super sensitive!

Good luck! :D

My L014 did great on massivore, krill, market shrimp, steamed zucchini, algae waffers, and random blood worms he'd pick up. He also, definitely loved to chew on driftwood from time to time. He really wasn't great about eating his veggies, though. :)

i threw in a few chunks of shrimp for my polypterus to eat and he ate a chunk of it, i was pretty surprised as it was a really big piece! took him a few hours to finish it off but he ate it all haha.

My 3.5" L-14 eats mostly NLS pellets (cichlid 1mm and Thera A 2mm). I had bought the NLS for the EBJDs but the L-14 will come out to graze on it daily.

The other foods I give my carnivorous plecos are: Ken's Meat Wafers, Ken's Spirulina Wafers (though these are mostly for the red hook silver dollars), Ken's Earthworm Sticks, O.S.I.'s Shrimp Pellets.

Also I sometimes cut up slices of Zuchini, stuff them with pellets, and attach it to a fork so I can keep the food where I want it.

The L-14 is my most active/outgoing/least shy pleco that I have.

Have any pics of your new pickup? I have lots of pics/videos of my plecos in the "My 4 plecos" thread in the pleco media lounge.

Hi
Nice fish must be near same size and age as mine had it a while now, loves
muscles.

Just to help try taking your fish pics at an angle to the glass for better results (no flash showing in pic) good luck :)
