I mean like few inch long babies. Any idea on where to look to find them? I know for a fact there's no way to target them on a rod and reel with things like sunfish in the lake. I have found them randomly under pieces of metal and rocks, but only on a number of occasions I can count on my hands in the 14 years I've fished the lake I found them in. Would it be viable to wait for them to spawn to snag some fry? If so, when and where should I look for such?

Can't help you with details. I've read several accounts of people netting fry/babies when they swim near shore in the shallows in a large shoal, like a cloud, with adults guarding the shoal on the perimeter. Spring time, I think, or early summer?
