After searching nyc high and low for banjo catfish, I finally found one (no label, I spotted it hidden next to a rock) in a petco of all places. As you might imagine, its looking pretty scrawny after its incarceration at petco, and I haven't seen him eat yet. Of course, that is normal for a banjo catfish, esp when new to the tank, but I'm worried about him. I've tried putting some frozen brine shrimp and some live black worms in front of him, but no real luck. In the past, I've known banjos to spring into action when they see blackworms in the tank and start gobbling them up. I think I saw him snap up a couple, but I would definitely like to see his belly start to fill out.

I read up a little about them and heres what I found..."Tubifex and small earthworms are normally accepted without issue, though you may have to drop the food directly in front of the fish to provoke a response. Such targeted feeding will probably be mandatory in a community setting since these catfishes are sedentary and make poor competitors."
