I need tips or ideas on how to clead a DIY 3D background that is mad of quick crete. Whats the easiet way to clean it when it starts to get alege? I was thinking maybe a soft brissle toothbrush. Just would like to here what other people do.

i dont know about the DIY background, but for the algae you can get a magnetic cleaner that you clean from the outside without putting your hand in the tank.

I think he means the algea growing on the quickrete background. If so, have you looked at the algea scrubbers? Everyone's said they kill the algea in the tank within a few weeks-months. Just a suggestion.

i have had tanks for years. i have al the stuff to clean them. I just would like to know what people do to clean a rough 3D background if it gets alege.

alege srubbers? is that a brush?

i would say a toothbrush would be a good idea.. I say them at the aquarium in Baltimore using a bigger version to clean the algae off the rocks.. but if your background is not of a bunch of smaller rocks then the algae brush they sell in the stores might work.

Instead of using a tooth brush and having to stick your hand down into your tank you could use something like a (new) toilet bowl scrubber with a longer handle on it .
