Are there any aquarium warehouses that sell all fishtank equipment, food, tanks, etc., in socal?

Global Aquatics out here in Ontario. Mostly fish, but they have dogs, tanks, TONS of overflows, tubing, drilled acrylic, misc. parts, lights, filters, etc. Wear shorts.

The prices arent bad. And you'll be in there awhile because there's so much to look at...like all the fish swimming in the concrete floor "tanks".

Been to Global Aquatics. Fish were good, had a large selection, no death tanks. Servive was horrible, no one around to help you, and didn't know anything about fish. Dry goods, small selection and very old. I bought a light kit and bulbs, took it home and it didn't work. Had to talk to the owner to get my $ back. Wouldn't go back though, plenty of cheaper bargains. Get them online, much cheaper if you buy everything at once to dodge shipping.

I'll agree with you on some parts. Service is next to nothing as it's one guy and his wife and occasionally his kids or some young guys for temp help. He ships in stock constantly and has a pretty good selection. He'll get anything you want without preordering or prepayment. It always provides instant gratification, instead of waiting on stuff to arrive via mail or express package. I go probably once a week as does my wife. The owner is helpful when he can be and takes what seems to be genuine interest to help figure out your problem.

The lady who was there when I went said they used to be a wholesaler and somewhere in the 90's they went retail. That explains the floor "tanks" and the huge skimmers. I was watching the lady handle the fish an she obviously has been doing it for quite some time. They do need more help because the entire setup in there kind of shows it. But yes, nice folks.

I wasn't impressed with Global...My wife noticed several obviously stressed fish and a couple in really bad shape...mentioned it to the owner and was basicly blown off... I ran a buissness for a lot of years and this is NOT how you treat a person in your store....right or wrong...The impression I get is that if your one of thier friends or long time custmers then your OK but if your not you might as well set yourself on fire in an attempt to get any servace....Additionally the prices on the equipment, especially some of my favorites, was very high...especially the sea clear's....I also wasn't impressed with either the tank selection or the prices....on the good side....they do have a nice used equipment section and I always love that. The fish selection is good...but I've seen better.

Also, they have a sharks in the back room, doesn't look to well, and the tank is rather tiny. One of the sharks never moves.
