Wondering if any one else out there has or is raising paratheraps fenestratus cichlids. We were given 3 varities of them this summer and all have spawned. We have the regular, catemeco and pie balds. all are gorgeous fish but there is'nt much intrest in them. They peaceful fish but do grow quite large from what I have read. Would like to hear from others and see what they think.

This is mfk its not a matter of if anyone has these its who.. I had a catemaco(don't know how to spell) for a month it was aggressive though. But hid all day attacked at night.

I need to spark up my fish life

i've kept a few other species of Vieja, they all tend to be very aggressive/dominant I suppose they would do well in an overstocked and overfiltered tank with some robust dithers.

These hav'nt proved to be problems with ours but interesting to hear.

I currently keep catamaco regular and piebald (white gold flake). I love the piebald!!! I wish i could find some with odder patterns as mine is practically all white.
But i have noticed they can get quite big quite fast. Ive had one go from 2" to 8" in a year. I havent seen any over aggression. I keep mine with oscars, midas, jack dempseys, ect they are completely fine.

Our pie balds are white with grey on thier sides and red caps and tails. Real pretty fish hope we will be able to sell them we have about 200 hundred fry growing out.
