I'm trying to plan a newt tank that I'll be doing here in the future, and I'm wondering if there are any shrimp that would be able to live in an unheated tank? It would be room temperature, so between mid sixties to low seventies. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Ghost shrimp and red cherry shrimp are fine at those temps. I don't know about the Caridina species. This is for your 5 gallon, right?

*EDIT* But your newt will probably eat them.

Yes, for a five gallon. I also figured it would probably eat them, but considering how cheap they are, again, this doesn't bother me all that much. So far it's looking like it'll be one newt, a few whitecloud minnows, and some shrimp. That ought to be more than enough. Thanks for the info!
