I have a compost that I started and ive had it for a couple weeks now and its doing pretty well. So I was planning on buying red wigglers but I had a few leftover bins of fishing worms so I decided to jumpstart my compost with these worms. I had roughly 50 or so of these big red worms that say eisenia hortensis on the box and a misc box of large night crawlers. Id like to get these identified. Here are some pics of both of the types of worms. The larger ones are the ones I need to be identified.
These are the smaller european nightcrawlers

Ya thanks they have been doing pretty good and in less than a week they already ate a whole lot of the compost. But im surprised that the canadian nightcrawlers are still alive too. I heard they die in composts quickly.

In my fishing shop they're under "dens" I'll find out their full name for you :)

I never heard them called "dens" before but I'm not in the UK. They are Earthworms "nightcrawlers".
