I've had H. subvirdis and they did great on veggies.

I got a new trio of 'high fin' L200, B. demantoides, and they dont' seem interested in cucumber or romaine at all.

Help plz :)

How do you tell between the two species?

Well I guess one has a higher fin than the other (duh:duh:), but how much "higher" is this fin?

Planetcatfish has a couple great shots contrasting the two species.

The dorsal fin on the Baryancistrus species has a wicked looking arc to it that is very pointy at the tip.

Other than that, the differences are minimal.

give it a few days... they will get around to it..

as always.. its better to have a pleco in the tank who is already eating.. Plecos do learn from each other and if one starts eating.. the other dude will follow suit...

But i would ask all happy (Ted) a call and ask him what he feed them....

I lost the two smaller (and nicer) ones in a heater malfunction :(

I knew that heater was garbage, damn thing didn't turn off andI came home too all the fish in the grow-out gasping at the surface, and my plecos dead. I'm bummed.

awww so sorry to hear that... yea.. its been much to cold lately.. i dont like how we're having this 60-65 degree thing.. its like back in feb..

I now have to bump up most of my tanks back to 86-90 to keep the temperature at 86 (my 60 gallons)

Exactly! It gets cold at night, but my room gets very warm during the day, so the heater freaks out and cooks the fish during the day I think.

I just need to buy a smaller heater.
