im a newbie requesting a DIY project for housing and breeding largemouth/smallmouth bass that i will be purchasing at a fish hatchery..please help..

A nice big kiddy pool should do the trick. Check out the Indoor pond section:)

I'm serious. There is not a less expensive way to have 2500g of water.

I know, I'm talking about putting it inside
Welcome to the place of the craziest fish keepers around. I've had a 1500g kiddy pool as a temp. home for my fish (indoors) when a tank started leaking.

I'm scare of the cat cutting the lining of the kiddy pool. aren't you??

That's a possibility. Wrap it's feet in tape:ROFL:

Weather changes are what trigger spawning in the first place. The change in photoperiod and temp come srping are what trigger the fish to spawn. If you keep them inside with an environment that dosen't chage they probably won't want to spawn. Rally is right, a pool is the best option. I would actually suggest a livestock watering tub however, make sure it's not metal but rather the hard plastic kind. No way will a cat rip that apart, they are made to stand up to the weather as well as animal abuse. Since you are choosing two very large fish (especially the largemouth) I suggest you go with the largest tub you can find, something like 300g for a pair.
