I seen 2 of these fish at LFS today and want to buy them but did not because I don't have any experience with them, or even herd of them till today. Has anybody had any of these fish? How do they act? Would I be able to put 2 of them about 3 inch's in a 75 gallon with CA cichlids. I read on 1 sight that there aggressive and mean then another site will say they very peaceful, so not to sure about what to think of um. Any info will help, thanks!

They're really peaceful fish. And mine has been with peacock bass and payara; all of which doesn't pick on it. It seems in general, it gets along with most fish. I say go for it.

As for diet and care, it's easy. It's not too picky and they are hardy.

They've been known to be really aggressive toward their own species if kept in a pair or small group.
I just bought one the other day and only one because the other three were beat up and seperated.
But they are peaceful to any other fish. Very nice color against a dark shaded background too :)

You would be best to get just one of them. There is two diff species called that though one is Chalceus macrolepidotus and the other is Chalceus erythrurus. I had a C.erythrurus in a 180gal and it grew from maybe 3 inches to about 9 inches in only a few months, loved floating cichlid gold mini. It got a bit aggro with fish that swim in near the top of the tank but nothing serious. cool fish though and pretty underrated.

Thanks for the info guys. I picked up 2 of um, a 4 incher and a 3 incher, they are very peacful and none of my cichlids mess with them so it worked out. mine arent to skidish they actually come to the front of tank when you walk up, and its a great looking fish.
