i have a 150 and I know it’s too small to House any true gar but I was wondering if there are any fish that are similar to them. I’ve considered rocket gars, but those needle nosed things I don’t think I’ll do those. Any suggestions helpful or just any predator fish can fit in this tank. Preferably an oddball. Can’t wait till I get a bigger tank lol

There are "false" gars, aka pike characins I think, that'll work well :)

Needle nose is a good option but need brackish water.

Pike characins like Hendre Hendre mentioned are s good oddball choice. A group of spotted boulengerella will look nice.

Most needlenose gars as far as I know come from brackish water. Freshwater ones do exist but have to know where they’re collected from but hard to know. Most common in the states are from brackish waters.

I’m talking about xenentodon cancila. It’s the only needle nose gar that can potentially be considered for a 150g.
