I want to get a freshwater Ray for my aquarium (210gal) but I live in Florida where all Potamotrygonidae all illegal to keep. Are there any freshwater Rays not in the Potamotrygonidae that I would be able to keep besides the Freshwater Atlantic Ray (D. Sabina)?

There are several species available for aquaria. However, none of those are as striking in appearance as SA rays. There are Himantura sp. rays, besides the giant Mekong River ray, that can be housed in home aquariums. The difficult part will be in finding a source for these smaller species.

The rays in the genus pleziotrygon are pretty similar to most rays of the genus potamotrygon. The only major difference is their extremely elongated tail, wich gives them the common name "whip tail stingrays". They do best in species tanks because they are so delicate plus their tails would get nibbled on.
Like oddball said, rays of the genus himantura are legal. Someone on aquabid is actually selling a himantura sp., himantura kittipongi to be exact:

Are "whip tail Rays" commonly available?

whip tails are actually available right now... if you message D Discus Origins (one of our vendors) I am sure Mark can get you one.
