Any good fishing in Cancun ???

I'll be taking a vacation soon to Cancun and was wondering if anyone knows of any good fishing. I have my Instant Fisherman ready to go and will bring a small assortment of spinners and such. Any Ideas other than the resorts koi ponds I dont want to do the charter thing just some lagoon or pond fishing if I can find any.

Well Cancun sits on two big lagoons. I didnt fish but there were says every saying to beware of the gators!!

if you charter a boat there is good saltwater fishing but if you try some pond on the resort or anyother place watch out for gators...theyre everywhere
