I've noticed a real lack of quality shops around here. There was a place called Pet Marketplace that closed down awhile back as the owner retired and quite honestly it was the best shop in town. Other than that, there are a couple shops besides Petsmart that I won't bash by name, however they either only keep the most common fish around, or they don't take care of their own stock. I was in a shop a few days ago and they had a 100 Gallonish 'show' tank where one Oscar looked like he'd been beat up his entire life, there was a rather large dead catfish, and all the Oscars plus a couple JDs had a serious case of Ich. Not exactly the kind of place I want to buy fish from.
Any good LFS around St. Louis, MO (freshwater)?
