Any guess as to what’s been growing in my tank?

So I got a group of fish from a gentleman a few months back and what looked liked some kind of fh red devil/ Midas ,and red Texas mix of fish maybe 15 total I selected a few from the batch and tossed them in my 150 to grow out and
see what I had any ways there’s one who has grown into a what I call freak of nature
Up until last week he was pretty normal the occasional fight but nothing bad or that left a mark Now the past week his head (kok) has just swelled up like a golf ball and he has this mean look in his eyes he didn’t have before and Is standing his ground hardcore has a few battle scares now too
Now his color is very strange the patch white is color it’s not a scar or disease it’s completely normal just has a weird orange/yellow/white color ration

I was planing to pull him out and keeping him alone since he’s getting aggressive any input ?

Just wanted to share my freak fish and curious if anyone has any input on what he could be mixed with ????
I know he’s not pretty but he’s like a bad car wreck it’s hard to look away when you see it

If you don’t know what he is and the person who you got it from doesn’t know what it is you will not get any more answers than what you said in your introduction “what looked liked some kind of fh red devil/ Midas ,and red Texas mix”

that’s pretty much the closest you will get to knowing what it is.

my understanding is (excuse the wording haha) he is growing his kok big to impress the ladies or intimidate tank mates.

You might have what some people would call a wet pet, a fish that has to live alone bc it will kill tank mates due to its aggressive nature.

The only other suggestion I have is to google translate that you’d like to know what the fish parents are so you would have a better idea of what your fish is.

short of a DNA test you most likely won’t know the kind of fish you have.

your explanation of what type of fish it is a possible mix of all looks like they could be what it is and would def explain the aggressive nature of your fish.

another thing you could do is research each individual fish species to get an idea of their nature and use it as a rough guide for your fish.

Looks like a fader kamfa. He has white eyes, hump like a kamfa, boxy body compared to zz and is definitely faded. Also might be what they call super red monkey. Beautiful fish nonetheless.

he’s a real interesting fish His head is huge now but it wasn’t as big when he was in a community Tank
Do you think he could be fertile? Any input on that ?
I’ve seen you with a lot of input on fh lately so thought I’d share my others with you

I doubt his fertility but only sure way to know would be to try to breed him with a proven fertile female.

I have him in with a female who loves to lay eggs so hopefully we will see
Can a female lay eggs and be infertile?

I keep it simple water 83-85
Feed them basic food Hikari, omega one
Nothing crazy
Regular water changes and there happy
