My wife is entering the Navy Nurse Corps and we may be moving to Hawaii. I am trying to find out what the hobby looks like out there. I am a little upset that I have to get rid off all my monsters since rays are illegal, and shipping 2ft long fish is nearly impossible anyways. I know the environment is perfect for everything to live in ponds outside too. How cool would a 10,000 gallon pond full or rays, cichla, and tigrinus be? Anyways, looking for the Hawaii MFK population.

Sucks yea that rays as well as alot of other fishes are illegal. Weather here is good for ponds, screw tanks down here. 180 will cost you close to a grand tank only. Go pond, Peacockbass seems to be the only good thing we got IMO.

im in hawaii too and yes there arent very many monsters here besides p bass, jardinis, and silver aros haha
at least the weather is great!
and Hot Slime, which fish shops do you go to mostly?

I'm on Maui. Like the others have said ponds are the way to go if you have the land to do so. Tanks are spendy here, so is everything else, but that is the price you pay to live in paradise. Give a shout out to Leighton from Aquatic Imports Hawaii for your future /v\onsters. He is here to as A. IMPORTZ
