Hey there monsters!!!

I just set up my SW tank for the first time. And After adding 70% Nature's Ocean Aragonite Sand(rinsed multiple times), 30% Live Nature's Ocean Sand.

After pouring the sand in the tank, and adding the SW onto it. My tank is very cloudy, how long does it take for this cloudness to settle down?

And one more thing, If I was to put in a lionfish(radiata) in it. Can I do it without any live rocks? Or do I need live rocks with it. My powerhead is running about 240gph and yes I know I know its a very weak powerhead. I can upgrade, but for now I want a lionfish and can I do it with a low flower powerhead with no live rock?

Any other ideas are appreciated. Thanks in advance. :D

Well depending on if you have a filter. And on how clowdy the water is. mabey within a few days. As for the lionfish you need to cycle your tank before getting one. And live rock isnt neccesary but help cycle and is recomended.

I see, so do lionfish require live rock to live happily? And I can cycle the tank with just live sand right? Or do I need live rocks also?

If you're just keeping fish then no.

Growth rates depends on how much you feed it. I believe their max size is 16"+.

The cloudiness will settle in a few days or a day you should notice it getting clearer.

x2
if your talking about the 20 in your other thread for the grouper, simply put no, it will get too large.

The lionfish would be better as a smaller species too imo.

some advice for ya on putting substrate in

try next time putting the substrate in a container and lowering it to the bottom of the tank and gently pour it out so as to not create plumes in the water.

Doing that will only create problems when he adds fish. Or when he moves things around in the tank. Because the dirt will still be in the sand.
