yes ive skimmed the sticky thread but its not very informative,

i have bought a very small TSN he's very thin but each day he's eating a lump of prawn, an it sticks out of his belly haha :)

im keeping him in a very small tank on his own right now any suggestions on raising them,

tips people have figured out after keeping them ?

thanks

TSN's are tough fish... once they get some size on them, at a small size though it's a completly different story, water quaility is key as well as a good diet. I have 8 of them and raised 6 of them from 1 1/2" - 2" till now with my largest now at 18"(of theones I've raised anyway, I have 2 that are bigger but they were local pickups :D) they are quick to loose their whiskers if the params are out of whack so make sure you keep an eye on that as it is an early warning sign that there is a problem.... Other than that make sure you keep them well fed and you don't leave it with anything that will fit in its mouth or you'll have some missing fish.

Plan your tankmates well with these guys as well... they arn't as aggressive as most big cats and will get beat up easy with others that are considered "aggressive"

thanks for that the info about the loosing wiskers is very interesting and damn good to know

my tsn is in a small tank tonight with 2 convicts also very small but not small enough for his mouth,

ill get some pics oh him . her later on
eventually when its fattened up an grown some its going to be in my big tank when i get it,

im planning on a big tank 7foot one that will house 4snakeheads 1marble cat 1pleco and the tsn

this is all future plans though altho i have all the fish right now
