Is there any way I could possibly enhance my flowerhorns red/pink color its starting to fade away and cant see it in pictures really much and possibly a way to improve his KoK? I recently learned how to take better care of him and just started but he is just turning compleatly grey. He is a Zz flowerhorn (I think red dragon? No idea)

Horrible pics can't see even if it has any color. Well brine shrimp and krill naturally enhance the Reds on fish.

Perhaps add a background and gravel so he's a bit more comfortable. All white washed the colors out.

If that's a new tank, I'd feed very lightly the first few weeks. I'm guessing from the milky water. If it's not a new tank, I'd suggest not cleaning so thoroughly.

I see you're a very young member @ 13 yrs old...welcome.

First and foremost, let's give your fh some better living conditions. Better filtration or let what you have cycle will help. If you have a bare bottom tank, you're going to realize you'll need more frequent water changes than if you had gravel. Once you've establish this, you can move on to its diet.

Im working on getting gravel actually and I am cleaning it every day until I get it a bit better

With good filtration, you won't have to clean it everyday. Introducing new water on a daily basis may stress out the fh due temperature changes and if untreated or aged, the water may have undesired chemicals leading to more stress. This is what's taking away the color.

Once the water conditions improve, it'll be happier & healthier. I keep temperatures high at around 86 degrees. The high temp makes them more active, leading to bigger appetite and the down side, dirty water...that's why filtration is so important.

Look into sponge filters for the time being. They're simple and require little maintenance and works really well. I've kept flowerhorns in a tank with a heater, sponge filter hooked up to an air pump...and water of course...without gravel and they're happy.

Its color will come back when it's healthy.
